Down On The River

While in Chile and making life-changing experiences, the most important one finding the love that eventually set him free from the blues, ALH made a 180-degree turn in his musical approach, and discovered an entirely new style of music for himself. With the growing love for his desired woman, his songwriting became heavily inspired by his feelings for her and the impact she started to have on his life, resulting in the two heartfelt songs “Down On The River” and “Fairytales Only Have An Happy End”, which were premiered on April 21 at the first concert show he performed under his new name, shortly after returning to Berlin. Experimenting with new directions in music and trying out styles and genres he never played in before, he often jammed around to find and play with new harmonies and grooves. A pivotal song that originates from those kind of jams is “Funk Machine”. With a catchy rhythm and spare lyrics that simply accompany the song more than anything else, it unfolds the funky Prince-inspired side of ALH, giving a glimpse of whats to come from his rekindled passion for music.

‘Down On The River’ is the very first release by ALH, and features demo recordings of tracks that are to be included on his planned EP titled ‘The Most Beautiful’.
