Fritz Ali Hansen is a Rotterdam based musician and songwriter born 2002 in Cologne, Germany, being primarily a self-taught bassist and guitarist. Hansen also performs vocals and occasionally plays Keyboard and Harmonium, and has been a part of the Berlin based band The Leftovers from ca. August 2022 to February 2023 as a bassist. His life-long passion for music comes directly from his parents, with his father, a former bassist himself, introducing him to the likes of The Kinks, The Clash, and The Godfathers, while his mother brought him closer to the sound of old Turkish pop. These two streams of influences built the foundation of Hansen’s broad knowledge and taste of music, which he not only implements in his music, but also in his DJ sets that he performs occasionally at different underground venues in Berlin. As a musician, Hansen draws primarily from Rock ‘n’ Roll and has been profoundly influenced by bands such as New Order, The Strokes, and Ghost Woman, while specifically as a bassist, the danceable grooves of Funk and Soul à la Sly & The Family Stone, Marvin Gaye, and Prince have also had a strong impact on him. After leaving his former band and moving from Berlin to Rotterdam, Hansen is now currently working on his solo material, and made his debut with the single ‘Wayside’ on Purple Eternity Records.

“Music is an art unafflicted with snobbish etiquette and intellectual padlocks, free to be felt by all who listen.”
