The new single Death Letter Blues by Aaron Levin Harder is out now for streaming on digital platforms, with an 8-track maxi-single available for download exclusively on our website. The single presents the only two recordings that Harder made for his planned full-length studio album ‘The Blues’ on this day in 2017, before abandoning the project and leaving them unreleased. Both tracks are crucial pieces of Harder’s previously unreleased catalogue, with the version of “Death Letter Blues” included here being his definitive rendition of the song that features most of the verses that are known to have been performed by Son House, and another Son House-cover titled “Forever On My Mind”, which is the only recording he ever made of the song.
The exclusive maxi-single additionally includes all previously released versions of “Death Letter Blues”, the introductional part to the 2017 Studio Version that is not available on the regular 2-track single, a previously unreleased excerpt of “Monologue” from the abandoned ‘The Blues’-album, and an exclusive music video of “Death Letter Blues” as performed on October 21, 2016 on the “Another Night Alone”-concert, which has been edited from Another Night Alone – The Concert Film especially for this release. To round out the package, the maxi-single is accompanied by a 12-page digital booklet and complete artwork with front- and back cover.
